Maoist strike called off
The Unified Maoist party has called its nationwide
strike off. All tours are running smoothly. Even during
the strikes tourist vehicles, ambulances, water tankers
and emergency services were allowed through.

Nepal declares 2011 Tourism Year
Nepal
has officially declared 2011 Tourism Year. Prime
Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal officially inaugurated the
ceremony amidst huge presence of tourism entrepreneurs,
media and public. Nepal aims to welcome 1 million
tourists in 2011.
The Political Parties in Nepal,
including the Maoists, vowed not to announce public
strike or any kind of demonstration that would otherwise
disturb public life and tourist activities.
