Tibet will re-open for foreign tourists from 26 July
Unofficial reports say that the Tibet Travel Bureau (TTB)
has stopped issuing Tibet Travel Permits for foreign
tourists. That effectively makes it impossible for
foreign tourists to enter Tibet until further notice.
This is applicable to all tourists entering Tibet from
Nepal side as well as from mainland China. However, the
TTB is likely to resume issuing travel permits from 26
July onward. We expect tourists should be able to enter
Tibet by end of July.
