Lhakpa Ri Expedition

Lhakpa Ri is remarkably positioned just across the glacier from Everest. It shares the historic route up the East Rongbuk Glacier and is climbable by a relatively safe and straightforward route. It is just over the milestone altitude of 7,000m, making it higher than anything outside Asia and is probably the most climbable 7,000m peak in the world.

Lhakpa Ri is a superb objective which should appeal to climbers looking for a 7,000m summit in a famous location. The visit to Lhasa, the overland journey across the Tibetan Plateau, the trek in the footsteps of Mallory and a climb with awesome views of Everest, are the ingredients of a very special expedition. It will also give a life-long impression of Tibet and its people and an insight and deep respect for the achievements of the early Everest pioneers.

Days 04 - 05 Sightseeing tour in Lhasa
Day 06 Drive to Gyantse (alt. 3950m / distance 261km)
Day 07 Drive to Shigatse (alt. 3900m / distance 90km)
Day 08 Drive to Shegar/New Tingri (alt. 4050m / distance 244km)
Day 09 Drive to Rongbuk (alt. 4980m / distance 68km), Camp
Day 10 Rest/Acclimatization Day
Day 11 Trek to the (North Face) Everest Base Camp (5150m)
Day 12 Camp One (5460m)
Day 13 Intermediate Camp (5760m)
Day 14 Rest in Intermediate Camp (5760m)
Day 15 Camp Two (5970m)
Day 16 Everest Advance Base Camp (6340m)
Days 17-21 At Leisure in Everest ABC (explore around & gain acclimatization)
Day 22 Lhaka Ri summit day (7045m), back to the Base Camp

Day 25 Walk to Rongbuk, Drive to Nyalam (215km), Guesthouse
Day 26 Drive to Zhangmu (23km), Cross the border in to Nepal, Drive to Kathmandu (121km)

Excellent Support Team

The expedition will be led by very experienced leader from Makalu Adventure. Our climbing Sherpa guides have climbed Lhakpa Ri several times. To their aid will be a team of cook and friendly helpers.

World Class Equipment

We import original products from Mountain Hardware & North Face. The tents and whole set of camping equipment are of world class.

Safety

We provide emergency oxygen, satellite phone, portable altitude chamber and first-aid with medicines. There is always a backup team should climbers require emergency support, descent or further assistance.
