Tukche Expedition 2011

Tukche is a mountain in Dhaulagiri range. The expedition route goes through one of the most remote parts in Nepal. The expedition will be in two phases; phase one is the acclimatization trek around Annapurna the aim being to top up fitness and acclimatize members to high altitude (HA). Phase two will be the ascent of Tukuche Peak by the North West (NW) ridge.

The mountain was first climbed in 1969 by Swiss team.

Day 03 By road to Besisahar (760m), Camp
Day 04 Bahundanda (1310m)
Day 05 Chamje (1430m)
Day 06 Dharapani (1860m)
Day 07 Chame (2670m)
Day 08 Pisang (3200m)
Day 09 Manang (3540m)
Day 10 Rest/Acclimatization Day
Day 11 Yak Kharka (4018m)
Day 12 Thorung Phedi (4450m)
Day 13 Cross Thorung La (5416m) and descend to Muktinath (3800m)
Day 14 Kagbeni (2800m)
Day 15 Marpha (2670m)
Day 16 Yak Kharka (3680m)
Day 17 Cross Dhampus Pass (5258m) and descend to Tukche Base Camp (5150m)
Day 18 Establish the BC (5150m)
Day 19 - 24 Climbing Period (Summit & back to Base Camp)
Day 25 Base Camp to Yak Kharka

Day 28 Fly Jomsom-Pokhara-Kathmandu, Transfer to Hotel

Excellent Support Team

The expedition will be led by very experienced leader from Makalu Adventure. Our climbing Sherpa guides have climbed Tukche several times. To their aid will be a team of cook and friendly helpers.

World Class Equipment

We import original products from Mountain Hardware & North Face. The tents and whole set of camping equipment are of world class.

Safety

We provide emergency oxygen, satellite phone, portable altitude chamber and first-aid with medicines. There is always a backup team should climbers require emergency support, descent or evacuation. The office in Kathmandu can manage to send a helicopter within hours on favourable weather conditions.
