Cho Oyu 2009

Cho Oyu 2009 Expedition Team is ready in Kathmandu.
Permits were pre-arranged and we just obtained their Group Visa from the Chinese Embassy in Kathmandu this afternoon. Everything is on schedule. They will be leaving for Tibet tomorrow.

Biking Lhasa to Kathmandu

So, the team already in Lhasa completed three days doing some sightseeing there. It has 12 bikers from around the world. Aussies hold majority (they are four).

What an incredible adventure this is going to be! They will start riding from tomorrow - 15 days total - until Kathmandu. There will be everything - paved road, crushed stones, small towns, curious children, dramatic landscape (hopefully no landslides), and not to forget the Everest Base Camp. Kalden, our guide, is excited as always (he doesn't mind even though this may well be his 26th time on this route, lol).

This is the only trip in the world where you can ride to the base camp of world's highest mountain.The team will be supported by one of most experienced crew from Nepal and Tibet.

British team leaves to Island peak

The British climbers group consisting Edward Culbertson, Neil Crawford and Steve Paterson flew to Lukla this morning. They will trek to the Mount Everest Base Camp and then climb Island Peak (6160m) after some two weeks. Come back again to read more on this progress.

Lobuche success for Andy and Richard

News from base camp say Andrew and Richard Brown, two brothers, from the UK have climbed Lobuche East (6119m) peak in Everest Region. Tenzing called us to confirm the news.

The team will now head towards the Island Peak (6160m) to attempt another summit.
The final objective is Ama Dablam (6812m). This is an ambitious expedition venture backed up by Makalu Adventure.
